1 Million Views On Tik Tok From My Bedroom In Bali

So I tried again. By the end of the month I'd accrued just over 1,500,000 views. Here are the lessons I learned along the way.

Research Your NicheThis time I researched what was trending in my region, and having lived in Bali for over a year now I noticed that a lot of the popular content was usually in the larger cities of Indonesia like Jakarta. This was where some of the major influencers were based and their content tended to be more popular and trendy. I used the same or similar songs that the major influencers were using in all my videos.

I Posted Different Types Of Content Till I Figured Out What My Audience WantedGaining some traction was not immediate. I tested 2 types of content. Entertainment and Education.

I created videos that taught my larger Indonesian audience how to create income online as a Freelancer with different platforms like Upwork and Fiverr.After this initial success, I created fun language content like "How To Say I Love Your In 10 Languages"The funny thing was that both types of content got thousands of views and engagement but it wasn't until a video I posted with me speaking 7 languages hit 100,000 views in a week that got my attention.This video was the first to go viral using popular hashtag Polyglot Check with multilingual people sharing their language skills.

So I knew what they wanted and here's what I did next.I Catered To My Audience Requests"We want to learn more languages please" That's a literal translation from a handful of comments I received on some of my language videos.So I kept going.

I made videos on "how to say (insert common idiom here)" in English or how to pronounce (insert difficult English word here) and my following has continued to grow steadily. No million views on a single video yet but a few in the hundreds of thousands and many in tens of thousands.So What Are The Lessons Here And How Can It Be Applied To Growth For Entrepreneur and Marketing?
