your engine spins lower RPMs which is affects the compressor for the air conditioner it might be a little low on refrigerant
1. dose a air conditioner blow in fresh air,i mean is the air just mixed up and pulled out.?
Very simply an air conditioner works by recirculating the air in the room and blowing it through a super-cooled coil of steel tubing that is chilled by the refrigerant passing through it. When you just have the fan on, the airflow is still the same path through the coil, only the compressor is turned off so there is no cooling effect. Hope this answers your question. Good night and God Bless!! Steve
2. a fuse keeps blowing in my bmw when i turn the air conditioner on?
You have a complex problem here. Fuse 17 is not even directly concerned with Automatic Heating/AC Control (for AC/Heating is Fuse 20). Fuse 17 provides power to a lot of circuits/modules some of which are engine computer (includes starting), transmission, mirror memory,ABS/ASC, central body electronics, etc. etc. Fuse 20 concerns central locking, rear lights, antitheft, AC/Heating Both 17 & 20 affects power windows, sunroof, instrument cluster/check control, electric throttle, brake lining light, and onboard computer. Why turning on the AC blows fuse 17 and not 20 is the problem. Perhaps, the joint controls they have are adversely affecting fuse 17 and not 20. I think that since the ignition key (fuse 17) provides power to the AC switch (not the AC system/module), which switches the final stage (aka blower resistor), and switching voltage to the blower relay, a short in either the blower relay, final stage, or blower motor will blow fuse 17. The logical repair would be to first replace the blower relay, if fuse 17 still blows then replace the final stage, if the fuse still blows, then replace the blower motor. Another item worth looking into would be the AC Pressure Switch on top of the compressor. This signal goes to the engine computer. And since the engine computer also provides switching power to the compressor relay, a bad relay or compressor could also blow fuse 17(in addition to the pressure switch). You see, it is not a simple matter. Diagnosis like this cost 2.5 to 4 hrs. of labor.
3. Is it bad for my health if I keep my window open directly across from my neighbor who's air conditioner is working?
nuke him it's in fashion
4. Does turning off the air conditioner use up more electricity then just raising the temperature?
It uses more energy to turn it off the recoil down the room rather than keep it at a steady temperature. You could also same money on your energy on my website. You still keep the same electric company but it attaches on the bill to get rid of the delivery fee. Check it out! Briannapilling.acndirect.com
5. Where does all the hot air go from an air conditioner?
window unit or central unit? on a central unit, the head is dissipated at the outdoor unit. About the same thing with a window unit except it dissipates on the outside end of the unit. And they call it a conditioner because it cools and dehumidifies the air. an air-cooler-dehumidifier would be even worse if you ask me
6. Where you live, could you live the summer without an air conditioner?
in LA yes it's possible i do it sometimes it's a little uncomfortable but the nights are cool and during the day there are plenty of places to go with air conditioning :)
7. Will a 24,000 btu air conditioner cool my house?
I have had the SAME problem years ago. I do not know if your weather and heat conditions are the same as mine, but depending on those factors, YES, it is possible that a 24K Btu a/c window unit will cool your entire house. If your weather conditions are no more severe than ours, you may get by with less, even half of that K]. When I had this happen, I installed a 12,000 Btu [all we could afford] window unit, and then using the central heating system set to "Fan Only," used that to circulate the cooled air throughout the house square feet, poorly insulated at that time, BUT only a single story ranch style house]. We live in Port Arthur, Texas [in the SE corner of TX, about 8-9 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico] which means summers with usually very high humidity with average highs of 85 to 95 F, sometimes 100, to occasionally 105, with 60 to 90 % Relative Humidity. On all but a dozen or so extremely hot and humid days the system kept the house comfortable. In your case, you could '"throttle back" the central heat registers on the first floor, directing a majority of the cold air to the higher, warmer 2nd floor, allowing the cool air to flow down the stairwell(s) to cool the ground floor. With a little "tweaking" you should be able to keep both floors reasonably cool. I would suggest that you "start out" with a 12,000 Btu window unit located upstairs. If you later find it cannot keep up with the heat gain and temperature rise, THEN you could buy a second 12,000 Btu unit, also located upstairs, using convection [downflow] to cool the downstairs. You may not even need to circulate the air with the central fan system. I think your solution will do the job, but most of the central system outdoor compressor/condenser units down here run 3K to 5K Btu for whole house central heat and a/c systems, and I think 24,000 Btu to start is expensive overkill.
